Kamendra N. Mishra, Chairman + Founder
With decades of experience, the founder and Chairman of ProFarm Seed is a passionate advocate of farmers - creating solutions for agriculture all over the world. He was born on November 10, 1948, and attended Bihar Agricultural College, SABOUR and graduated with a B. S. degree in 1969 and graduated with a M.S. degree in Plant Breeding in 1971 from PANTNAGAR. Other educational endeavors include several executive management courses at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and training in Gene Transformation at the Cold Spring Harbor, New York.
After obtaining his M. S. degree, Ken briefly worked with the Rockefeller Foundation on a Rice Improvement Project in India before joining Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. (Des Moines, Iowa based SeedCompany, now part of DuPont) as a Research Scientist in December 1971. In 1976 he was transferred to establish Pioneer’s research and business program in the Philippines and Asia. As a Regional Director for Asia Ken established research and business in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia.
In 1985, Ken was transferred to Des Moines, Iowa, and was named Operations Director for the Pacific Basin and Sub-Saharan Africa. In 1987, Latin America was added to his responsibility. He served on the Corporate Research and Business Management committee. At the time of leaving Pioneer, Ken was involved in supervising and establishing Research and business in 31 countries of the world.
In May of 1991, Ken resigned from Pioneer and joined as a Chairman, President and CEO of Bioseed Genetics International. He also served as a consultant to the President of DeKalb, Cargill and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
Ken joined Dow AgroSciences as a Global Business Development Leader in Biotechnology. In year 2005, GMMPCPI expanded its activities to Seed Research and Business through ProFarm Seed International Inc.
